- Gate only opens sometimes. If the remote works from one angle but not another, the receiver antenna is usually failing or the board is losing power intermittently. We often find corrosion at the terminal block inside the control box, especially after a good Sherman Oaks rain season.
- Keypad dead, no lights, no beep. The keypad draws power through the control board. If the board’s auxiliary power output is weak, the keypad fails even though the gate still cycles. The keypad isn’t always the problem, so don’t buy one before the board is tested.
